Cadence Habit Tracker ("Cadence", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used and protected when you use the Cadence Habit Tracker iOS application.

Information We Collect

Personal Information

Cadence does not require you to create an account and does not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address or contact details.

Habit Data

Cadence stores the following information locally on your device and, if enabled, synchronises it via Apple iCloud using CloudKit:

  • Habit names, icons, colours and schedules
  • Habit completion data, including daily completion counts and timestamps
  • Habit status such as paused or archived

This data is considered user-generated content and is used solely to provide the core functionality of the app.

Purchase Information

If you choose to upgrade to Cadence Pro, Apple processes all payments. We do not receive or store your payment details. We only receive confirmation of your purchase status from Apple via StoreKit.

App Preferences

Cadence stores app preferences such as theme selection and Pro status using local storage and App Group UserDefaults. These preferences may be shared with widgets installed on your device.

How We Use Your Information

We use your data only to:

  • Provide habit tracking functionality
  • Display visual progress grids and widgets
  • Enable iCloud synchronisation across your devices
  • Verify Pro purchase status
  • Improve app reliability and performance

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or tracking.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored:

  • Locally on your device
  • In your personal iCloud account if iCloud sync is enabled

Apple manages the security and encryption of iCloud data. We do not have access to your iCloud account or its contents.

Widgets

If you enable widgets, habit data and preferences are shared between the app and widgets using an App Group container on your device. No additional data is collected for widgets.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties.

Data may only be disclosed if required by law.

Data Retention

Your habit data remains on your device and in iCloud until you delete it by removing habits, uninstalling the app or disabling iCloud for Cadence.

Your Rights

You control your data entirely within the app. You may:

  • Edit or delete habits at any time
  • Disable iCloud synchronisation via system settings
  • Remove the app to delete all local data

Children's Privacy

Cadence is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the app and on our website.
